Glenn Ligon at Whitney Museum of American Art

The first mid-career retrospective of Glenn Ligon (IAIR 98.1), contemporary art’s wordsmith wunderkind, is on display at the Whitney Museum of American Art until June 5.

If you are unable to make it to New York City, worry not. Glenn Ligon: AMERICA will travel to Los Angeles County Museum of Art in October 2011 through January 2012. Followed by a stop at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in February 2012.

During Sunday’s episode of NPR’s Weekend Edition, Glenn Ligon gave a tour of his Whitney retrospective. Listen here.

Yale University Press recently published the exhibition catalogue for AMERICA and is scheduled to release Yourself in the World (Selected Writings and Interviews of Glenn Ligon) on May 23.
