Open call begins for 2012 Hunting Art Prize
Are you a Texas artist whose practice is painting or drawing?
If so, how does $50,000 sound?
Registration for the 2012 Hunting Art Prize is now open. If you are at least 18 years of age, and answered “yes” to the first question, head on over to the Hunting’s website.
Sponsored by Hunting PLC, an international oil services company, the Hunting Art Prize’s $50,000 award is “the most generous annual award in North America for painting and drawing.”
Last year, San Antonio’s own Leigh Ann Lester won the prestigious award, and in 2009, former Artpace resident Robyn O’Neil (IAIR 03.3) won the award for A death, a fall, a march: toward a better world (shown above).
All submissions must be submitted by midnight on November 30, 2011. The winner will be announced April 28, 2012, at the Hunting Art Prize gala.
If you have any further questions, visit the “Frequently Asked Questions” page.
