Join Artpace’s 04.1 International Artist-in-Residence alum and By Permit Only artist Michael Velliquette on Sunday, August 28 from 1-3pm for an afternoon Artist Workshop. Taking Untitled (Sigil for Wealth and Prosperity)—a wheat-paste artwork viewable in the Artpace courtyard—as a point of departure, he will speak about his artistic process and lead participants through a hands-on demonstration of how to create a personal 2D or 3D sigil (an abstract symbol traditionally used for magical purposes). Open to adults of all skill levels, this workshop is free, but a reservation is required. Space is limited to the first 40 guests (and the workshop is already half full!), so RSVP early by calling 210.212.4900.
Limited-edition prints of Velliquette’s Untitled (Sigil for Wealth and Prosperity) are available for purchase at Artpace. (Fresh Art First members receive a 10% discount.)
