Sunset Song at CHRISpark

“Come my love let’s talk a walk / Just a little way away,” begins the 19th-century folk ballad, “Banks of the Ohio.”

Not familiar with the song?

Well, Scottish artist Susan Philipsz (IAIR 03.1), the 2010 Turner Prize winner, wants you to experience her interpretation.

Beginning May 8, Philipsz’s “Sunset Song” will be presented daily in CHRISpark, the one-acre park built by Linda Pace at 111 Camp Street in San Antonio.

According to the flyer, “CHRISpark will maintain extended hours throughout the exhibition, presenting the work from 12 noon until sunset, Tuesday through Sunday. ‘Sunset Song’ will culminate each day as the sun goes down.”
