The Faces of Camp Artpace: Places and Spaces

Camp Artpace, Places and Spaces: Installation View Photo by Kaela Hoskings.

Camp Artpace may be over for 2012, but their wonderful exhibition of works continues on at the San Antonio Children’s Museum.  The Houston Street window of the Children’s Museum is currently full of our camper’s work and it is such a sight to behold.  Giant painted self-portraits and portraits created using Photoshop were made with 12.2 Hudson (Show)Room and 02.3 International Artist-in-Residence artist Juan Miguel RamosThomas Cummins, our current Window Works artist, worked with campers to create a beautiful photograph using multiple colors of light.  Also showcased in the window are colorful map drawings inspired by 12.2 Hudson (Show)Room and 01.2 International Artist-in-Residence artist Lordy Rodriguez.

We are so proud of the 2012 Camp Artpace artists and their amazing accomplishments, so go check it out!  The works will be on display for another two weeks.

Summer camps at Artpace are made possible by the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation; camp scholarships are underwritten by H-E-B.  Artpace would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the San Antonio Children’s Museum for making this Summer 2012 exhibition possible.  And special thanks to Artpace artists Thomas Cummins, Leslie Hewitt, Jacco Olivier, Mike Osborne, and Juan Miguel Ramos for inspiring Artpace’s youngest artists this summer.
