Then and Now: International Artist-in-Residence Matthew Buckingham

Matthew Buckingham’s 07.3 residency with the Artpace International Artist-in-Residence program yielded the exhibition Half Remembered. While here, he enlisted the help of Artpace staff and friends to create the silent black-and-white video projection for Within the Sound of Your Voice, which recorded dozens of individuals hand writing the phrase from the title of the work.
Since then, Buckingham has gone on to exhibit at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, and at Murray Guy, New York. His upcoming show, The Spirit and the Letter, opens September 3 at the Brooklyn Museum.
